Sanctum of the Twelve (11/14/17 Session)

[GM Note: as a reminder - males in one room, females in another. Janvier, Kiba, R'tahka, Kasandora all feel the beginning of a cold coming on.]

Mind if I join you?

Like the others, Kasandora has changed out of her wet clothes but not before a soft sniffle and a soreness at the back of her throat has settled in. Not the sort of thing she wanted to deal with but at least there's others to watch for her if things go wrong.

And yet, despite changing she still wears her mask. She's been thinking about it a lot the past two days and wonders if that's why so many of her arrows have flown astray.

"I think I'd heard about this place, but I'm surprised it's seeing proper use and care. The ruins in the South Shroud have been....they've been left to the madmen and voidsent who roam their grounds." At the mention of voidsent she again touches at her mask, her fingers twitching as she debates removing it but settles on leaving it on.

"I've not met the sylphs before today but I've heard stories. Mostly tales from disgruntled hunters and traders about tricks and pranks being played on them. Though perhaps the sylphs do not see such things this way themselves."

Kimomo props her head up so she can catch Kasandora in her vision. "The temples are different, hunh? People will make the trek into someplace dangerous to keep up a building like this where they might not for other ruins." She nods thoughtfully. "Must seem arbitrary to the sylphs, why one shelter carries more meaning than another."

But Kimomo is turning the thought of voidsent over and over in her mind. There's a pause, before she lets that thought out into the room. "Do you think the rumors are true, that there's more voidsent now, since...the last few months?" Too tactful to directly bring up the day that changed all of their lives. "Or is it just that there are fewer of us to fight them now?"

Kasandora is quiet for a time, mostly waiting to see if R'tahka has any thoughts to offer on the matter. Her own experiences are biased after all. "I'm sure the reasons people have make sense to them if nothing else. Sometimes there may be some meaning, or perhaps it's merely the only place they could go."

She doesn't imagine those who chose to worship Dalamud garnered much sympathy from most in the cities, but an impending Calamity can make people act in ways not like their sane selves.

"Whatever pain and suffering the Calamity has brought about has likely attracted their attention. There's likely more, but it's because we survived. Not because of what happened. At least, that's what I think." There may well be fewer souls alive now but no, she wanted to believe that the worst of this Umbral Era was behind them, foolish as it might be. Especially for her.
