Noble words, but Kasandora bit her tongue. It was nice to know they wouldn't be so easily inclined to turn their back on her because of her race but promises of a peaceful future did little to mend the hurts of the past.

But the comment about the Ixal does garner a reaction from her: a raised eyebrow visible even with the mask covering her face. She questions Revenald with her eyes but doesn't bother to put it to words beyond a simple "Is that so?"

Perhaps he DOES know something more about what she grew up with.

"Mmm, I see. I heard rumors about some friendly Ixal but frankly I didn't put much stock in it." Her own corner of the shroud was more home to goblins and the occasional sylph. The birdfolk were a north side problem. "But if the Calamity hasn't turned them back towards their Primal then I suppose that's a good thing."

She stretched her arms, tugging on her elbows to loosen up in case she had to let some arrows fly, herself. "Do you know how the poachers in the South Shroud fared? They were always more a trouble for me when I was growing up than the Ixal were."

She expected those who made it through the first days following Bahamut's flight were likely able to make a killing on whatever supplies they had to sell at markup. The Wailers wouldn't be the type to let that slide but they were probably still dealing with recovery and refugees and had to pick their battles.

Poachers friendly to Gridania. Kasandora had to stop herself from laughing at the idea, but she supposed in a time of crisis there were those who thought more of the land than the law and put people over profit. She was fairly sure she couldn't count her old gang in that number.

Of course, as much as she hoped they were wiped out she didn't count on that either. Shite always had a way of rising out of whatever troubled waters it ran through.

"Maybe once upon a time. Even if they're ready to accept me I'm not sure if I'm willing to do the same just yet." She surprises herself a bit with her candor but she has to admit to herself that she'd being honest. "I'd like to be sure the past is truly where it belongs before I stick my neck out in their name. For now I'll just have to do it in mine." Or at least the one she's been using.

Kasandora offered Revenald a smile, a real one. This was enjoyable though it made her aware that this is the sort of experience that she felt Gridania had denied her so many summers ago.

"I'm sure. I should get back to my traveling group. There's some things we need to attend to. One of the guilds had us come this way to gather supplies. It's possible they've gotten started without me."
